If you have a Samsung Galaxy phone, the Galaxy Watch 8 fits naturally into the ecosystem.
It’s designed to be comfortable enough to wear throughout the day and night, while still giving you Samsung’s growing collection of health, fitness and AI features.
A different design
Samsung changed the shape of the Watch 8 this year with a more squared-off frame.
Some people will love it.
Others will probably need a little time to get used to it.
But the important part is comfort. A smartwatch is something you might wear for 15 or 16 hours a day, and a design that disappears on your wrist can be more valuable than a flashy specification.
The screen is also brighter, which should make outdoor use easier.
Health tracking is getting serious
Samsung has packed the Watch 8 with health features.

The Antioxidant Index is particularly interesting because it attempts to estimate carotenoid levels through the skin.
Whether you’ll personally use all of these features is another question.
But Samsung is clearly trying to make the watch more than a notification screen strapped to your wrist.
Gemini comes to the watch
The Watch 8 also brings Gemini AI to the smartwatch.
This means you can interact with Google’s AI assistant directly from your wrist instead of relying entirely on traditional voice commands.
For simple things, that may not change much.
But as AI assistants become better at understanding context and handling multiple steps, having one on your wrist starts to make more sense.
Battery
The 40mm model has a 325mAh battery, while the 44mm version gets 435mAh.
Realistically, your source puts everyday battery life somewhere around a day and a half to two days depending on usage.
That’s decent, but it’s not going to compete with Garmin or Amazfit for endurance.

Who shouldn’t?
