Bottom line
The Amazfit Balance 2 is the kind of smartwatch that makes you look at its price and then look at its feature list again.
At around $299, it offers a surprisingly long list of fitness and outdoor features.
And then there’s the battery.
The battery is almost ridiculous
Amazfit rates the Balance 2 for up to 21 days.
That’s the sort of battery life that changes how you think about a smartwatch.
You’re not wondering where the charger is every evening.
You’re thinking, “I charged this thing sometime last week, didn’t I?”
The display
You get a 1.5-inch AMOLED display with scratch resistance.
It’s bright, colorful and large enough to make workout information easy to read.
And with more than 120 watch faces, you can change the look whenever you get bored.
Tracking almost everything
The Balance 2 supports more than 170 activities.
Running, cycling, swimming, hiking, climbing, skiing, boxing, golf, rowing and even less conventional activities are covered.
It also has built-in GPS and mapping features for activities such as skiing and golf.
AI coaching
Amazfit’s Zepp Coach is designed to adjust workouts according to your condition and recovery.
That’s more interesting than simply giving you a static workout plan.
The idea is that your training should change when your body changes.
The compromises
At this price, there are obviously some.
The software isn’t as polished as Apple’s or Samsung’s.
The app experience can take some getting used to.
And people looking for clinical-style health features may want to look elsewhere.
But that’s not really what the Balance 2 is trying to be.

Who should buy it?
- Budget-conscious athletes
- Runners
- Fitness enthusiasts
- People who hate charging every day
- Users who don’t need Apple or Samsung ecosystems
Who shouldn’t?
If app selection and premium software are your priorities, Apple and Samsung remain more mature ecosystems.
